Listed below are some of the charities and fundraising goals our customers have helped us achieve. Many of those that have been helped are just ordinary people, and not part of an official charity.
Thanks to our customers and an increased sales volume during the Holidays, we were able to help provide needed items and small toys to parents without the means to purchase these items for their small children.
Over the years, situations have come to our attention where families and individuals were in need of clothing. Not only have we been able to help provide the basic necessities, occasionally one would be in need of more suitable clothing to wear to job interviews, and as work uniforms. By providing these items, they were able to obtain and maintain employment.
Girls Who Code: Through the month of March in 2015, we were able to help raise $1,000 to meet a fundraising goal.
“Girls Who Code is a nonprofit organization that works to educate, inspire, and equip high school girls with the skills and resources to pursue opportunities in computing fields.”
Girls Who Code’s vision is to reach gender parity in computing fields. They believe this is paramount to ensure the economic prosperity of women, families, and communities across the globe, and to equip citizens with the 21st century tools for innovation and social change. They believe that more girls exposed to computer science at a young age will lead to more women working in the technology and engineering fields.
Together with leading educators, engineers, and entrepreneurs, Girls Who Code has developed a new model for computer science education, pairing intensive instruction in robotics, web design, and mobile development with high-touch mentorship and exposure led by the industry’s top female engineers and entrepreneurs.
